About Us

Mission Statement

The goal of our Diversity in Aquatics Program (DAP) is to help create and promote more local DAP programs, as well as to create a forum for interaction, communication, and news. Posting competitive times, job descriptions for inner city lifeguarding programs, fee swim lessons, Josh Project locations, and a directory of contacts are all things we want to provide for the athletes and coaches looking these resources. We want to educate the community while paying close attention to health and safety by illustrating the benefits of recreational swimming for fitness as it relates to heart disease in minority communities. We will highlight and follow minority swimmers and coaches past, present, and future. Our hope is to improve diversity in aquatics by means of access and exposure to aquatic programs, water safety knowledge and experience with lessons, competitive swim teams, professional staff and water related activities.

Hello,
Would you please forward this e-mail to Mr. Naji Ali of San Francisco. I am a local independent filmmaker that was interested in creating a filmed documentary about him and his recent pursuit of swimming from Pt. Bonita. I cannot seem to find contact information on him. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Ron Gilbert

You have my complete support! Our goal is to reduce the childhood drowning rate globally by encouraging children to enjoy the water safely. We don’t want to lose the joy, the exuberance, that comes from being in the water, we just want to teach kids starting at infancy how to be safe so that they are less likely to drown – not just in this country, but across the globe. Anything we can do to support your efforts – let me know!!
